Description

The oldest stone viewing tower in the Krkonose, 18 m in height, was built in 1892 by Count Jan Harrach. The viewing tower at the top of Predni Zaly hill is accessible in good weather and offers magnificent panoramic views not only of the Krkonose but also of the surrounding areas. The original timbered restaurant burnt down at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries and was replaced with a light modular wooden building that was destroyed during World War Two. The new restaurant was built as a replica of the original building some 10 years ago.

You can climb the 89 steps to enjoy a breath-taking view of the countryside and the Krkonose’s prominent sights – Mount Snezka, Kotel, Lucni and Cerna hora mountains, the Hanc and Vrbata Monument at Zlate navrsi, and Medvedin hill. In good weather, you can see the towns of Trutnov, Hradec Kralove and even Prague.
