The AJETO glassworks was built between 1992 and 1994 on the foundations of a former private German factory for cutting and dyeing velvet in Lindava, a place considered to be one of the most important centres of glass production in the world. One of the founders was the renowned Czech architect and designer Bořek Šípek, in part ensuring that world-renowned glass artists and designers, architects, artists, actors and filmmakers came together here from the very beginning. On weekdays you can observe the master glassmakers at work and take a tour of the production area. Then have something to eat and drink in the adjacent Glassmaker’s Tavern, before trying your hand at blowing glass under the guidance of experienced glassmakers.

The glassworks are now part of LASVIT, a company which inspires the world with its breath-taking glass installations and unique collections of light fittings and glass.
